For the first time in Fan Fair history, country artists will direct part of the proceeds to their favorite charities. Among
the designees so far: Ronald McDonald House (Vince Gill and Pam
Tillis); Reading, Writing & Rhythm Foundation (Chely Wright); Susan G. Komen
Race for the Cure (Jo Dee Messina); Country Music Retirement Center (The Wilkinsons); and First Steps Inc. (Joe Diffie). Fan Fair has
named the Country Music Retirement Center and the Country Music Hall of Fame as officially designated non-profit organizations.
The balance of proceeds will go to the CMA's Special Fund, used to promote and develop country music. 05/24/01
