Vince Gill will be honored with the Country Weekly Career Achievement Award at the TNN & CMT Country Weekly Music
Awards on June 13. "Vince is a top-notch musician, a loyal supporter of his Nashville hometown and a flag-waver for
country music and the traditions on which it is built," Country Weekly Vice President/Publisher Sheri Warnke says.
"And he's always been quick to pitch in whenever he felt his talent could help a worthy cause." Kenny Rogers received
Country Weekly's first career achievement award last year. It is presented to a living artist who has recorded for at least
15 years and has made a lasting contribution to the tradition and heritage of country music. Gill will perform his 1990 smash
"When I Call Your Name" on the awards program, which will be simulcast live at 8 p.m. ET on CMT and TNN from Nashville's
Gaylord Entertainment Center. 06/05/01
