CMT will launch a new monthly series, CMT Crossroads, in September, teaming country music stars with artists from other
genres such as pop, rock and R&B. The debut episode, set for Sept. 16 at 9 p.m. ET, pairs Hank Williams Jr. and rock-rapper
Kid Rock. In each episode, artists will perform together, swap stories and share their common love of music. Viewers will
see interviews, biographical sketches and behind-the-scenes footage. The series is designed to show the far-reaching roots
of country music. "Great music knows no boundaries," CMT Program Development and Production Vice President Kaye Zusmann said
in a statement. "CMT Crossroads has not been created to make country music more pop but rather to show the far reach
of country." 07/13/01
