Americana Radio, TV Networks Projected
Atlanta-based Crawford Communications and Jon Grimson, owner of Nashville-based CounterPoint Music Group, have formed Americana Entertainment. Billboard reports that the new Nashville-based company will syndicate Grimson's "This Week in Americana" radio show and develop a syndicated, 24-hour Americana radio format. Larry Shell, co-writer of "Murder on Music Row" will join the company as director of publishing. In addition, Stan Hitchcock is partnering with Crawford to start Americana Music Television (AMT). Hitchcock worked with CMT until it was sold in 1990 to Gaylord Entertainment. He hopes to launch AMT nationally in the second quarter of 2002. Ronnie Reno is the network's music director. 09/18/01
