Travis Tritt's Down the Road I Go has been certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America for
shipments of more than 1 million units. Released in 2000, the album marks his debut for Columbia Records following a long
affiliation with Warner Bros. "After taking 18 months off from touring and recording prior to releasing this album, I am ecstatic
to have it go platinum," Tritt said in a statement. "Anytime you achieve this kind of milestone it's fantastic but the overwhelming
response to my first Columbia Records release is really special because the time away made me appreciate these achievements
more than ever before." Down The Road I Go has yielded the singles "Best of Intentions," "It's a Great Day to Be Alive"
and "Love of a Woman." In other RIAA news, Toby Keith's Pull My Chain, released Aug. 28, has achieved gold status for
shipments of a half-million copies. 10/11/01
