Chet Atkins, Brenda Lee and Gene Pitney are country-related artists slated for induction March 18 into the Rock and Roll Hall
of Fame. Lee is the first woman to be elected to both the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Also
on the list for induction: Isaac Hayes, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, the Ramones, the Talking Heads and Stax Records co-founder
Jim Stewart. Atkins, who produced and played on countless Nashville recording sessions, will join in the "Side-men" category.
In addition to his pop success, Pitney recorded duets with George Jones (as George & Gene) and Melba Montgomery. The rock
hall's 17th annual induction ceremony will be telecast March 20 on VH1. 12/13/01
