Freddy Fender's kidney transplant Thursday (Jan. 24) in San Antonio was successful, his doctor said. "He is expected to spend the next day and a half in the intensive care unit, then move to a regular room on the transplant unit," said Dr. Glenn Halff, director of organ transplantation at University Hospital.
