The Country Music Hall of Fame launched its "Spotlight Series" -- mini-exhibits highlighting newly acquired artifacts and
memorabilia -- with a display dedicated to the late African-American country singer Ruby Falls. Her exhibit opened this week
in honor of Black History Month. The Jackson, Tenn., native charted a Top 40 country single with "You've Got to Mend This
Heartache" in 1977. Falls made appearances at the Grand Ole Opry and Fan Fair before her death in 1986 at age 40. The Falls
exhibit includes a 1970s silver-studded black stage costume, among other items. An upcoming exhibit in the series will feature
Reba McEntire's costumes from the Broadway musical Annie Get Your Gun. More. 02/06/02
