Neal McCoy provided the country connection when pop star Jessica Simpson married Nick Lachey of 98 Degrees during a Saturday
(10/26) ceremony in Austin. Simpson, a Waco native, invited McCoy to perform at the wedding reception. Per her request, McCoy
sang Van Morrison's "Crazy Love" for her first dance as a newlywed. McCoy was accompanied on piano by producer-composer Walter
Afansieff, who has worked with Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Jennifer Lopez and others. Simpson and McCoy became friends during
a 2002 USO holiday tour. 10/28/02
