R.O.P.E. -- the Reunion of Professional Entertainers -- will hold its annual dinner and awards show Thursday (Nov. 7) at the Gibson Bluegrass Showcase at Opry Mills in Nashville. Cocktails begin at 5:30 p.m. with the awards set for 8. Awards will be presented to the winning candidate, as voted by R.O.P.E. members, in each of five divisions. Entertainer of the year nominees include Bill Anderson, Wilma Lee Cooper, Alan Jackson, Jean Shepard and Carl Smith. Nominated in the songwriter category are Bobby Braddock, Felice & Boudleaux Bryant, Jack Clement, Dickey Lee and Freddy Weller. The musician of the year nominees are Ron Elliott, Kenny Gill, Lloyd Green, Cliff Parker and Pete Wade. Media award nominees include Kyle Cantrell, Carol Lee Cooper, Johnny "K" Koval, Robert K. Oermann and Walt Trott. In the business category, this year's nominees are Chuck Chellman, Charles McBride, Don Pierce, Joe Taylor, Gene Ward and Mac Wiseman. 11/01/02
