A talk radio host has hired the Marshall-Tucker Band to play in Spartanburg, S.C., on May 1 as an alternative to the Dixie
Chicks' concert that same night in nearby Greenville. The radio host Mike Gallagher told the Greenville News, "To tell
you the truth, after Charlie Daniels couldn't make it because of his scheduling issues, The Marshall Tucker Band is exactly
who we wanted because we knew they were from the area." Gallagher also said all proceeds from the concert will benefit military
families from South Carolina. 03/31/03
