Grady Named Sony Nashville President
John Grady has been named president of Sony Music Nashville, reporting to Sony Music U.S. President Don Ienner. Grady will head Sony Music's country operations, including the Columbia, Epic, Monument and Lucky Dog labels. Grady formerly helmed DMZ Records, a joint venture between Columbia Records and T Bone Burnett and filmmakers Joel and Ethan Coen. Grady also spent nine years as senior vice president of sales, marketing and promotion for Mercury Nashville and Lost Highway Records where he was instrumental in the marketing campaign for the O Brother, Where Art Thou? soundtrack. Grady's appointment was announced Monday (May 5), just three days after the company confirmed the departure of Sony Nashville President Allen Butler and two other top level executives. 05/05/03
