One could call it a history-making event or simply just another show at the Ryman. Whatever the case, one can bet this particular
Grand Ole Opry will be an unforgettable show. Top celebrities such as Trisha Yearwood, Vince Gill, Martina McBride, Ricky
Skaggs, Steve Wariner and Joe Diffie are slated as guests for this weekend's Grand Ole Opry, which will be held at the restored
Ryman Auditorium. Good thing, too! -- There's major construction in progress at the Grand Ole Opry House, which is the usual
venue for the weekend Opry shows. The return-to-the-Ryman celebration will also feature a TNN-televised portion, hosted by
Ricky Skaggs and Bill Anderson on Saturday at 8 p.m. EST. Other country stars and veteran Opry members slated to take the
famous stage throughout the weekend include Skeeter Davis, Holly Dunn, Little Jimmy Dickens, John Conlee, Daryle Singletary,
Stonewall Jackson, Charlie Walker, George Hamilton IV, Jeanne Pruett, Del McCoury, Porter Wagoner, Bill Carlisle, Billy Walker,
Del Reeves, Jack Greene, Jimmy C. Newman, Jim & Jesse, Hank Locklin, Johnny Russell, Jim Ed Brown, The 4 Guys, Mike Snider,
The Whites, Stu Phillips and the Melvin Sloan Dancers. It's been almost 25 years since the now televised show departed from
the historic "Mother Church" in downtown Nashville.
