Following an evening of victory the night before at the 25th Annual People's Choice Awards where Garth Brooks cinched the Male Musical Performer honor, the 95-million-plus album seller became one of the top winners again at the American Music Awards. Brooks joined the ranks of rapper/actor Will Smith and pop princess Celine Dion in the multiple-win circle -- snagging both Country Male Artist and Album trophies. The two awards mark his 12th and 13th honors from the 26th annual event. Shania Twain received the Country Female Artist award; super group Alabama took home the Country Band honor -- giving them a whopping 22 AMA awards; and the Dixie Chicks continue to keep the trophy factories busy as they were honored with the Country New Artist award. While accepting, the Chicks thanked the fans, their business peers and their make-up and hair artists. "That's really what it's all about," joked the Chicks' Natalie Maines. Additionally, Brooks had the opportunity to perform in part of the tribute to one of his greatest influences Billy Joel, who received the Award of Merit.
