Following the August shooting death of a Texas man, Johnny Rodriguez, who was charged early on with murder, and a close friend
have now been indicted on a murder charge. The 46-year-old entertainer, who became a country music hitmaker in the 70s and
early 80s, remains free on a $50,000 bond. An arraignment is scheduled for both defendants to enter a plea before a judge
on January 19th. The shooting reportedly occurred when Rodriguez thought he was encountering an intruder in the darkness at
his mother's home.
