Singer/songwriter/actor Dwight Yoakam continues to plunge into the acting world by taking on yet another role. He'll star
with actors Ron Eldard and Frank Whaley as "Lieutenant Colonel" in the HBO original movie, When Trumpets Fade, in April.
The film, directed by John Irvin (Hamburger Hill), was shot last year in Hungary. Dwight's character is the commanding
officer who issues unreasonable orders to unseasoned troops during very dark episodes of World War II. Yoakam can be seen
on March 20th in the 20th Century Fox film, The Newton Boys. The singer plays Brent Glassock, an explosives expert
who hooks up with a fellow outlaw to form a bank robbery gang. Yoakam is also nominated for a "Best Country Album" Grammy
Award for his Under The Covers disc and is already working on another project to be released this year.
