It wasn't because country crooner Trace Adkins was flaunting his trademark hip-grooving on stage that gave him a severe ankle
injury. The multi-platinum artist was surveying his property outside Nashville, Tennessee recently when his truck became stuck
in the mud caused by a recent heavy rainfall. As he attempted to dislodge the truck, he stepped into a sinkhole and his ankle
snapped. He fractured and dislocated his ankle and severe damage was done to his tendons. The accident was so severe that
surgery was required and his February 12th performance in Caruthersville, Missouri had to be rescheduled. Early forecasts
from doctors say that Adkins will spend 6-8 weeks in a cast. His next album is slated for a summer release.
