Loretta Lynn remains in good condition in a hospital near her home in Hurricane Mills, Tenn. The Country Music Hall of Fame member was admitted Tuesday (March 20). "She is being treated for pneumonia in the right lung and as long as she continues to respond favorably to the medication, [doctors] expect a full and speedy recovery," Lynn's spokesperson said Friday morning (March 23). "However, they want to keep her under observation for at least the next 48 hours." The "coal miner's daughter" is said to be in good spirits and wants everyone to know she is getting excellent care. "She truly appreciates all the prayers and good wishes," her publicist said. Lynn's illness has forced her to cancel her scheduled appearance on the Grand Ole Opry tonight (March 24).
