To help kick off National Kidney Week, country songstress Deana Carter and her father Fred Carter Jr. will hit New York City
this week to make several TV appearances to promote the importance of organ donation. The two also appear together in a new
public service announcement for the National Kidney Foundation. Deana almost donated one of her kidneys to her dad five years
ago before another one became available. She has since credited the anonymous donor with saving her father's life, according
to USA Today. The Carters are tapped to guest on The View Tuesday, when Deana will sing "Everything's Gonna
Be Alright," the title track to her latest album. The song was written by her father in the early 1970s.
