Only Garth Brooks could set a record in semi-retirement. According to January certifications from the Recording Industry Association
of America (RIAA), Brooks' Double Live set has sold 14 million copies, making it the best-selling live album of all
time (each disc of the two-disc set counted as a unit sold.) By contrast, Peter Frampton's celebrated live recording, Frampton
Comes Alive, has sold 6 million copies, according to RIAA stats. Double Live was released in 1998 and was recorded during
Brooks' 1996-1998 world tour.
