Former Arista artist Sherrié Austin will be the flagship artist for WE Records, a new Nashville-based indie started by music publisher Ree Guyer-Buchanan. The label's first project is Austin's new album, Followin' a Feelin', set for release on March 20. The lead single is a hopped-up remake of the Dolly Parton classic, "Jolene." Austin shot a video for the tune in Nashville Thursday (Jan. 11) with Peter Zavadil, the director who fashioned Sara Evans' "Born to Fly" video. In Austin's short, Jolene is portrayed as the idealized woman that real women have to compete with. During her Arista tenure, Austin released two albums, Love in the Real World and Words. She is a songwriter for Guyer-Buchanan's publishing company, Wrensong Entertainment.
