Country icon Merle Haggard, actor Woody Harrelson and other celebrities recently met with California governor Pete Wilson's
staff to protest a lumbering agreement they fear would damage the state's treasured redwood forests. "We're being sold down
the river and I live down the river," commented Merle, who lives in Northern California's redwood country.
