Jimmy Driftwood Dies at 91
Perhaps best known for penning the 1950s classic "The Battle Of New Orleans," folk singer/songwriter Jimmy Driftwood died Sunday, July 12th at the age of 91. Born James Corbett Morris, the Grammy-award-winning artist, who penned more than 6,000 folk songs, died of a heart attack after having suffered a stroke several weeks ago.
