Brad Paisley decided to usher in 2001 by sitting in with Buck Owens and the Buckaroos at the Crystal Palace in Bakersfield,
Calif. To show his appreciation, Owens surprised Paisley onstage with a signature red, white and blue Fender Telecaster. Although
Owens is known for handing out red, white and blue acoustic guitars to artists he admires, it was the first time he had given
out an electric guitar, according to an Arista Records press release. Paisley told country.com he is in the middle
of mixing his second album, due for release in the spring. He will play the Grand Ole Opry this weekend when it returns to
its former home, Nashville's Ryman Auditorium, for a two-month engagement. Paisley will be inducted as the newest member of
the Opry on Feb. 17.
