People magazine reports that Garth Brooks is America's favorite male entertainer. The magazine's survey of 1,000 readers also lists country's Alabama as America's favorite band, edging out all rock contenders. Breaking his old record, Brooks recently sold over 60,000 tickets for three shows set for May 15-17 at the Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky. The singer broke the venue's previous sales record, which he set himself in November 1993. While on the subject of Garth, the Oklahoma native was honored with the Entertainer of the Year, as well as the Special Achievement Award, on the 33rd Annual Academy of Country Music Awards.
