The ACM Top Male Vocalist of the Year Tim McGraw set a new personal first week sales record with the release of his fifth
Curb album A Place In the Sun. According to industry source, SoundScan, McGraw sold over 251,000 albums from Tuesday,
May 4th through Sunday, May 9th. The album debuted at No. 1 in both the country and the Top 200 charts in Billboard
Magazine. McGraw is only the second act in the history of country music to sell over 250,000 records in the first week of
sales. The first single from A Place In The Sun, "Please Remember Me," performed on the Academy of Country Music
Awards, soared right to the No. 1 spot on the singles charts as well.
