You turn the dial or punch a button, hoping to hear the high lonesome sound of bluegrass. Let's face it though. It can be as hard to hear your favorite bluegrass artists on the radio as it is to learn an Earl Scruggs banjo roll. Currently, bluegrass music is all but absent from TV. To find it on radio, you have to know where to listen, but that could be changing. Industry observers feel that bluegrass radio, although still primarily a specialty format, already is expanding and shows tremendous potential for further growth through new outlets such as the Internet, syndicated radio shows and weekly specialty programming.
