More than a dozen country and pop stars will honor former Doobie Brother Michael McDonald on Feb. 4 at the Shrine Auditorium
in Los Angeles. Billed as the "National Association of Music Merchants [NAMM] Millennium Concert," the show's lineup includes
SHeDAISY, The Wilkinsons, Billy Dean, Ray Charles, Steve Winwood, Patti LaBelle, Toto, Boz Scaggs, Kenny Loggins, James Ingram,
Patti Austin, Christopher Cross, Alan Parsons and Edwin McCain. McDonald will be presented with the Yamaha Lifetime Achievement
in Musical Excellence Award at the event. The award was last presented 13 years ago to Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys. The
concert is part of the NAMM International Music Market 2000 conference, which runs Feb. 3-6. All proceeds from the concert
are to benefit various music education and advocacy programs.
