California-based Tornado Records will release a posthumous Doug Sahm disc later this year, reports Country Standard Time.
The CD, produced by Sahm last year, is said to be a straight up country album. No release date has been set. Tracks may be
added, such as background vocals from Willie Nelson. Sahm, a Grammy-winning member of the Tex-Mex country all-star band the
Texas Tornados, died last November at age 58. Sahm embodied the spirit of Texas music. Solo and with various bands, the multi-instrumentalist
skillfully handled all of its major elements including blues, Cajun, country, R&B, rock and Tex-Mex.
