Here's one incentive to get your tax return done a few days early this year. Jackson, Tenn., the hometown of late rockabilly legend Carl Perkins, will be rocking April 14-16. Billed as "Rockabilly Weekend & Reunion," the city is hosting a three-day music event to raise funds for the future home of the International Rockabilly Hall of Fame and Museum. Among the acts so far confirmed to play are "Fujiyama Mama" Wanda Jackson, "Red Hot" Billy Lee Riley, "Narvel the Marvel" Narvel Felts and the Johnny Burnette Trio's Paul Burlison (all of whom are worthy of induction into the Rockabilly Hall of Fame once it's up and running). Organizers have also signed up many of the newer acts playing retro-rockabilly, including several bands from overseas. Other big names are expected to be added. Stay tuned for more details.
