Remember a few years ago, when Garth Brooks surprised Steve Wariner by joining him on stage at Fan Fair? Well, borrowing a page from the Brooks book, Wariner recently surprised the staff at Capitol Records Nashville when he showed up unannounced to join another label mate, Keith Urban, during a private performance. To show his gratitude for the hard work being done on his behalf, Urban regaled the Capitol crew with songs from his new album, songs from his days with The Ranch and a few classics, including "Wichita Lineman." To the delight of the surprised staffers, Wariner popped around the corner for "Where the Blacktop Ends," a tune from Urban's album, written by Wariner and Allen Shamblin. Wariner then proceeded to perform a song from his next album, expected in the spring, and the hot-picking duo ended with a performance of an Urban instrumental, "Rollercoaster."
