It's confirmed that Billy Ray Cyrus has joined Sony Nashville's roster on Monument Records, as was speculated here a couple
of weeks ago. Last summer Cyrus parted ways with Mercury Records, where he launched his career in 1992 with "Achy Breaky Heart."
Sony -- the home of the Dixie Chicks, Patty Loveless and others -- is on a spree, trying to capitalize on established acts
who have been let go by other labels. Sony recently signed John Anderson, Travis Tritt and Waylon Jennings. Cyrus is reportedly
in the studio working with Dann Huff, the producer behind big hits for Faith Hill and Lonestar.
