Forerunner Music, the home of many Garth Brooks hits and one of the most prominent independent publishers in country music,
has been sold to multinational Universal Music Publishing. The deal was completed Monday (Oct. 2). Among the hit tunes in
Forerunner's approximately 1,500-song catalog are "The Thunder Rolls," "Unanswered Prayers," "That Summer," "Two Pina Coladas,"
"How Long Gone," "Don't Let Our Love Start Slippin' Away," "Whenever You Come Around" and "Small Town Saturday Night." Allen
Reynolds, Terrell Tye, Jim Rooney and Mark J. Miller owned Forerunner.
