The likeness of country's legendary Kitty Wells, will be among several other famous Tennessee figures featured on Nashville's new Tennessee Foxtrot Carousel, located at Music City's downtown riverfront. Designed by internationally known artist Red Grooms, the full-size working carousel will pay tribute to Tennessee and Grooms' hometown of Nashville. The Tennessee Foxtrot Carousel is created in Grooms' signature whimsical style, featuring 36 figures and 28 panels relating to Tennessee's history and culture. Manufactured in New York, the Carousel will include figures of Opry star Wells, Uncle Dave Macon, Andrew Jackson, Davy Crockett, sculptor Will Edmonson and Olympic medalist Wilma Rudolph. The carousel will turn along with a new rendition of the ever popular "Tennessee Waltz."
