Ralph Stanley is nearing completion of his Clinch Mountain Sweethearts album, which is set for a mid-2001 release by Rebel Records. "Sweethearts" who have already recorded songs for the project include Lucinda Williams ("Farther Along"), Dolly Parton ("Loving You Too Well"), Valerie Smith ("I'll Remember You, Love, in My Prayers"), Chely Wright ("Angel Band"), Maria Muldaur ("The Memory of Your Smile"), Gillian Welch ("Oh, Death") and Iris Dement (cut still to be selected). Also contributing is Patty Mitchell ("You're Still to Blame"), who sang as Patty Lege with the Domestic Science Club. The album is being produced by Bil VornDick.
