Both sides continue to negotiate for an out-of-court settlement in the suit LeAnn Rimes and her mother, Belinda, filed in
May against the singer's father, Wilbur Rimes, and her former manager, Lyle Walker. "There's really nothing going on of any
momentous import," the plaintiffs' attorney, G. Thomas Rhodus, told country.com. "We still hope we'll get [the suit]
resolved amicably somehow. There's a 50/50 chance. We either will or we won't ... We're just kind of up in the air." The original
complaint, filed May 2 in the Dallas County (Texas) District Court, charges Wilbur Rimes and Lyle Walker with "fraud, breaches
of fiduciary duty, gross mismanagement and dereliction of management duties and responsibilities." It asked for $7 million
in actual damages and "up to four times" that amount in exemplary damages.
