Singer-songwriter Jim Lauderdale makes his first appearance as a solo artist on Grand Ole Opry Live. He appeared before on the televised segment with Ralph Stanley. Lauderdale has a busy night planned. He performs earlier at Nashville's Gaylord Entertainment Center as part of the Dixie Chicks' "Fly" tour. The singer joins Charlie Robison (Chick Emily Robison's husband) for a free outdoor show before Ricky Skaggs and the Chicks take the stage inside. Tonight's televised Opry performers also include T. Graham Brown, who'll sing his heart-wrenching ballad "Wine Into Water" and Holly Dunn is scheduled to perform "Devil Stand Back." Longtime Opry members Jean Shepard and Billy Grammer are also on the bill.
