After a lengthy cancer battle, David H. "Butch" McDade, a founding member of southern rock band The Amazing Rhythm Aces, died on November 29th at the age of 52. A lifelong musician, Butch was a popular Nashville figure who, along with his work with the recently-reunited Aces, had toured or recorded with the likes of Tanya Tucker, Leon Russell, Lonnie Mack, Roy Clark and members of the Subdudes. McDade's wife Leslie was at his side when he died at his home in Maryville, Tennessee. McDade formed the legendary Rhythm Aces with singer/songwriter Russell Smith in the early '70s. Their debut album, Stacked Deck, was released in 1975. A public memorial service is scheduled for Thursday, December 3rd at Nashville's Third & Lindsley Bar & Grill from 2-4 p.m. CT.
