David Lee Murphy has raised $25,000 for concerts tonight and Saturday in his hometown, Herrin, Ill. Murphy will be appearing
at the local civic center. Remarkably, the concerts mark the first time Murphy has performed in Herrin since he began his
country music career. From 1994 to 1997, he scored a number of hits including "Dust on the Bottle" and "Party Crowd." Proceeds
from the concert will go to the Jack Murphy fund, founded by Murphy in honor of his father, Dr. Jack Murphy, who was a prominent
civic leader and educator in Herrin.
