Loretta Gets Spiritual
Speaking of midnight, the historical Midnight Jamboree radio broadcast returned to the Ernest Tubb Record Shop on Broadway Friday night. Loretta Lynn, who played the show during its original run with founder Ernest Tubb, was the featured guest along with newcomers such as Montgomery Gentry, who sang an acoustic version of "Tattoos and Scars." Although Loretta had already performed, the crowd clamored for another one, so she broke into an a capella version of "How Great Thou Art." Halfway through the song, the crowd began to sing along, turning the record store into a makeshift church.
