Clint Black was in good humor today (March 2) when he and his wife, Lisa Hartman Black, came to the BMI offices in Nashville to celebrate their No. 1 single, "When I Said I Do." With the song playing softly in the background, Black accepted BMI trophies for being both the songwriter and publisher of the hit. Asked if he had anything to say, Black quipped, "I'd just like to go ahead and sing along with the song, if you don't mind." Reflecting on his awards, Black continued, "I want to thank my wife. Without her, it would just be me singing another No. 1 song." He paused and grinned. "If you're [quoting me] for print, be sure to add, 'he laughed.'" Everyone else did too.
