Country Music Hall of Famer Johnny Cash, bluegrass patriarch Ralph Stanley and folk legend Pete Seeger are among the 78 luminaries to receive "Living Legend" medals from the Library of Congress on April 24. Stanley, 73, and Seeger, 80, plan to be in Washington, D.C., to accept their awards and perform at the Library's free National Birthday Party and Concert later the same day on the East Lawn of the United States Capitol. The celebration, a part of the Library's bicentennial observances, will be hosted by National Public Radio commentator Cokie Roberts. Other medal recipients include Gen. Colin Powell, musicians B.B. King, Tony Bennett and Barbara Streisand, folklorist Alan Lomax, record exec Ahmet Ertegun and baseball great Hank Aaron.
