While most of the songs on Vince Gill's Let's Make Sure We Kiss Goodbye are emphatically sunny, the upcoming album (April 18) also includes the somber "Hey God," Gill's memorial to his friend, the late golfer Payne Stewart. Stewart died in a plane crash Oct. 25. Three days later, Gill recorded the song at a studio in Franklin, Tenn. It was then sent from Nashville by satellite to Orlando, Fla., where it was played at Stewart's funeral on Oct. 29. Although a local radio station picked up and broadcast a copy of the song after the funeral, this is the first time it has been made available to the public.
