Willie Nelson performs Saturday (Aug. 16) in Carthage, Texas, when three of his friends become members of the Texas Country
Music Hall of Fame. Kris Kristofferson, Johnny Bush and the late Lefty Frizzell are this year's inductees. Nelson and Kristofferson
worked with Waylon Jennings and Johnny Cash in the Highwaymen. For years, Nelson has opened his concerts with Bush's original
song, "Whiskey River." And Nelson paid tribute to Frizzell on the 1977, To Lefty From Willie. Other performers at Saturday's
ceremony include Kristofferson, David Frizzell (Lefty's brother) and the Geezinslaws. ... Singer-songwriter Hank Cochran was
inducted into the Mississippi Hall of Fame during an Aug. 9 ceremony in Jackson, Miss. Cochran performed a medley of songwriting
triumphs, including "I Fall to Pieces," "Make the World Go Away" and "Don't You Ever Get Tired of Hurting Me." 'N Sync's Lance
Bass and bluesmen Willie Dixon and Little Milton were also among this year's 10 inductees into the Mississippi Music Hall
