Dolly Parton and singer-songwriter Janis Ian have recorded a duet for Ian's new album, Billie's Bones, set for release
in early 2004. Parton makes a guest appearance on "My Tennessee Hills." Parton says, "I have always thought that Janis Ian
was one of the greatest writers and singers in the whole wide world. She sent me the song, and I just absolutely loved it.
It sounded like something I had written, and I thought I might be able to complement it with my harmony, so I jumped at the
opportunity." Ian, a longtime Nashville resident, is most famous for her 1975 pop hit, "At Seventeen." Working Without
a Net, a two-CD set of Ian's live recordings, is set for Oct. 7 release. She recently published a book, Stars: Stories
Based on the Lyrics of Janis Ian. 08/18/03
