The Original Harmony Ridge Creek Dippers, featuring husband-wife team Mark Olson and Victoria Williams, have a new album due
Oct. 17 on HighTone Records. The group, rounded out by fiddle/mandolin player Mike Russell, was formed in 1995, after Olson
left alt. country favorites The Jayhawks. Before joining Dave Alvin, Buddy & Julie Miller, Big Sandy and others on the HighTone
roster, the Dippers recorded a handful of self-released projects. The new album, My Own Jo Ellen, features 10 original
songs recorded in a once-abandoned shack in Joshua Tree, Calif. Special guests on the album include Greg Leisz on electric
guitar, Don Heffington on drums and Barrett Martin on vibes. According to a HighTone press release, the album is said to "recall
the true roots of American folk, rock and country music."
