Original Blue Moon Boys Scotty Moore and D.J. Fontana will join Delbert McClinton, Ronnie McDowell and Roomful of Blues this
weekend for the Tupelo Elvis Festival in Tupelo, Miss., the singer's birthplace. Billed as "a hometown tribute to the king
of rock n' roll," the celebration offers free music today (Aug. 5) and Sunday (Aug. 6). Other scheduled events include a movie
poster exhibit, 5K run, motorcycle ride and classic car show. The music begins at 4 p.m. today with McClinton and Roomful
of Blues on the bill. The show cranks up at 1:30 p.m. Sunday with Moore, Fontana and McDowell joining the eclectic lineup.
The daddy of Elvis festivals, Elvis Week, kicks off Aug. 10 in Memphis and concludes on Aug. 16, the day the singer died in
1977.
