DreamWorks Nashville to Stay
The record label DreamWorks Nashville will remain open as a stand-alone operation, despite the sale of its parent company to Universal Music Group. In addition, Toby Keith will remain on the label, rather than move to another of UMG's labels. DreamWorks Nashville president James Stroud told Music Row magazine, "At first I was concerned, even though we had our best year ever at DreamWorks Nashville. But perhaps that is the answer. We've been successful, and therefore will get the chance to continue. It's really a salute to my staff and artists. Their hard work has positioned DreamWorks Nashville as a valuable asset. We're already used to working with Interscope and Universal [for distribution] so this transition should be smooth. We're looking forward to continued success and a bright future." 11/12/03
