Avie Parton, who was immortalized in her daughter Dolly Parton's hit "Coat of Many Colors," died in Sevierville, Tenn., on
Friday (Dec. 5). She was 80. Avie Parton was also a witness at Dolly's 1966 wedding to Carl Dean in Ringgold, Ga. She is survived
by three brothers, a sister and 10 children, including Dolly. Her husband Lee Parton died in 2000. 12/8/03
