Vince Gill surprised the audience by joining Rodney Crowell onstage at the Nashville club 3rd & Lindsley on Sunday night (Jan.
25). Crowell had just finished a live radio broadcast when he invited Gill to the stage. After singing "Stars on the Water"
and "She's Crazy for Leavin'," Crowell told the audience he first met Gill in 1976 at a Los Angeles club, where Gill was performing
Crowell's "'Til I Gain Control Again." Crowell added that he decided on the spot to retire the song from his repertoire because
he knew it could never be sung any better. (Of course, they sang it at the Nashville show.) Crowell and Gill are currently
working on an album with their previous band, the Cherry Bombs
